I had started down the dark path to Washi tape addiction recently but I’ve become disappointed with the stickiness of the tape. Am I doing it wrong? Everything I try to tape with Washi tape seems to repel the stuff and when I revisit my carefully taped creations, the tape is peeling off and not looking so great. I’m a little relieved that I am now recovering from my (mild) addiction because I had begun to hoard the stuff like a gray jay (those food hoarding birds).
Wouldn’t that be the default state of masking tape?
The tackiness is designed for impermanence and to not pull off underlying paint or finish.
I always wondered what you do with this.
It looks pretty, that’s for sure.
