An amazing song… I love the Dresden Dolls version, which I’ve seen them do twice now…

I find his “Ozzy” finger tattoos so endearing.

It is interesting to see early Metal crowds before the style coalesced; like seeing Arnie in “Terminator” before he got the leather look.

:smile::smile::smile: Early Punk.

It is amazing that Mark Warfield’s clothes fitted Arnie.

I first saw this concert (and this, discovered Black Sabbath) on TV as a kid. I must have been about 8 or so; I’d faked being ill to skive off school, and it was on in the afternoon, cos they’d put any random stuff on of a weekday afternoon on ITV, as there wasn’t really enough telly to go around(we’re talking the post-Pebble Mill at One slot. IKYKY…). Anyways it fuckin blew me away. Still does.

It’s amazing how many bands and artists have incorporated that song into their regular sets. Cake also almost always performs War Pigs at their live shows.

And I don’t know if he does it regularly, but T Pain did an absolutely killer performance of it not too long ago.

War Pigs is arguably the best anti-war rock song ever.

Wore out my old VHS copy of this Paris show- young and hungry makes for great rock and roll.

I thought Faith No More did the tune justice.

… not a cover but perhaps an homage

Oh, yes, big brother’s LOUD, early morning heavy metal! I never needed an alarm clock to wake me up for my 2nd grade day to begin (elementary school) with this playing on his hi-fi stereo!!!

Let’s add Geezer Butler’s lyrics and Bill Ward’s drumming.

Yeah, it’s right up there, for sure…

Gah!

Geezer Butler was integral to their sound (and lyrics!) but he not in ONE SINGLE SHOT of this video except by accident in the background.

Lots of details of Ward’s feet and stickwork, lots of details of Iommi’s fingerwork, lots of details of Ozzy singing and flinging his hair, but ZERO of Butler doing his monster work on the bass.

Even the wide shots are just Iommi, Ozzy and Ward.

It makes me so mad.

Ooh! Thanks for sharing. Great version. Thanks also to @danimagoo for the Cake version. Here’s my pick - in many ways harder rocking than the original:
