This is why, even though I abhor whaling, I still have a grudging respect for the dudes who had the cajones to go out in rowboats and try to take one of those things down with pointy sticks.

Same here! In reality I hate the thought of slaughtering whales. But for some reason I enjoy reading old-timey whaling stories like Moby Dick, In the Heart of the Sea, etc.
What a great way to go.

Cajones means drawers. Cojones means balls. Whalers weren’t furniture.

Well, MY drawers would need a-changin’ if I had to face off against one of those things with a dinghy and a spear.
