Well, call me cynical, but I don’t think porn’s general purpose need be focused on the pleasure of the performers of any gender. They’re there to make it look fun, not necessarily to have fun. Then again, I never understood the fetishization of method acting either.
On the other hand, more attention to the pleasures of female viewers would definitely be a good idea.

Sure, but what I meant by what I wrote about the female performers is about their faked performance of pleasure – it’s almost always a performance of pleasure that’s actually aimed at heterosexual male viewers. It’s mostly a performance of what a guy is led to think a woman would act like while being impressed by him and his performance. And so, it’s rarely ever a performance of what actually gets most women off (which, of course, varies; but again, IRL, it’s rarely so exclusively predicated on what gets a guy off – unless a woman has been brainwashed by porn and pornification to put his pleasure before hers).
Just as porn sold VHS players and DVD players, this is what will sell VR goggles.

That’s why I think DIY porn is better. Just some real people doing what they like without fake lighting, positions, angles, makeup, noises, etc. I can’t imagine why/how anybody would find the stagier stuff more erotic. Also it’s worth checking out porn made by and for women.
