The fact that the vehicle is unloaded from the rear is the reason why it is backed into the bay.
It’s actually not that difficult to do, once you get your vehicle straight. The hardest part is learning to trust your mirror; if you are lined up straight, steering wheel corrections are minimal/nonexistent.
A benefit of backing into a space is that it is far easier to see traffic when you are trying to leave.
