I’ve got to be brutally honest here: I enjoyed this video very much. It’s a finely layered bad-solution sandwich that tastes so, so good. Punish those without a good grasp of engineering and physics, my tree stumps!

Physics is for everyone.

But that guy at 4:44 seems to be looking for a Darwin Award, by first holding on to an active tow line, and then thinking he should push the tree to “help” the truck.

Even for the folks that didn’t suffer a fail, i would say that the risk isn’t worth it as it doesn’t take much to get a failure that can damage the vehicle. Just because your truck can do something it doesn’t mean it should, hire a professional or dig up the trunk and cut the roots.

Still i did enjoy watching other people’s poor life choices.

I didn’t watch the whole thing, but it was very good, indeed.

ok…when it fails, I completely understand the laughter.

When it succeeds…wtf is with the whopping and hollering? Some folks need better hobbies

I wanted to see more stumps win, but I’ll settle for not having it all be vertical video.

I’m pleasantly surprised at how much of this cross-references with #wypipo, and at least a small portion with #mcmansionhell.

Too many lucky sucesses, not enough shatttered back windows or crashed trucks or broken frames/axels.

Also never really saw the point. You already cut the tree down to the stump or trunk, just cut it flush to the ground. Put some cuts or holes in it to speed up rotting if you want.

I’ve heard that filling the holes with epson salt helps with that.

But then how could they get enough space to sow enough front yard potatoes to feed all of the other asphalt cul de sac villagers, before cruel winter sets in?

One way is to just dig it out, definitely more labor especially if its a larger trunk or a tree that had a lot of roots but you get results. Depending on where one lives burning the stump is also possible, but yeah rotting it can be done. I’m looking online and apparently there’s even chemicals that can be added to speed up the process but it can definitely be done naturally as well.

you should not photo/shop that

I kept on thinking “just get a long running start and use momentum instead of the straining the motor”. But by the end I saw the logic of doing it the way they did, with less strain on the chassis and chain, and less chance of stumps through the rear window. Good thing I don’t have a big truck.
