I remember a young Ricardo Montalbán having trouble with one of those doors as well, but they kept that shot in the final edit. Must have been too expensive to reshoot.

THe doors, of course were not really automatic but operated by a stagehand on the othe side of the wall. Who would occasionally miss a cue.

yeah, there’s a shot in there of nomad running into the door, and then someone calling out “door” - for whatever reason i found that very funny.
( not so funny was shatner kissing someone for a scene and then forcing her head in place to keep kissing her long after the shot, while the men off camera laughed. nor things like roddenberry standing behind some dancers so he could look at their asses. 
)
