Um.
i once had my views seriously attacked as fascistic socialism (“Well there was “socialism” in the term ‘nazi’, y’know” yeah but that was all an early bit of adopt-o-prop wasn’t it?) …and all i wanted to do was to promote the internet as a publicly owned resource [shrug]
“Why, there must be 37 versions of ‘Socialism’ - Three of them to the right of Reagan” --Mary Chestnuttt
I can’t help but always ask, how dumb are you when you talk about the evils of socialism, but always reference communism?
I once assumed it was a scam inflicted upon the critical thinking impaired crowd, but I’m beginning to think these guys believe the crap coming out of their mouths.
Looks like someone didn’t read Acts 4:35.
Just like the Ferengi!
just like in all those Nordic countries where all the women are forced to hide indoors and never go out and do things like run countries.
Only 4 of the 5 prime ministers are women. Clearly a terrible place to be female
And at the same time, Trump is trying to force Facebook and Twitter to carry objectionable content on their platforms, against their will. And nevermind that GOP forces doctors to say things that aren’t medically true to women in search of reproductive care.
Conservatives are playing a straw man game with the word “socialism”-- they want us to think socialism = totalitarianism. It doesn’t. You can have a totalitarian regime under capitalism as well as communism.
Ask Victor Jara if the free-market capitalism of Augusto Pinochet was good for his music career.
I guess finding fault with socialism is easier when you know nothing about it, except what you’ve pieced together from sugar packets.
And this is coming from a Senator.
And this is not some lone opinion.
They all talk like this.
Their heads are full of an ooze biochemically unrelated to nerve cells.
Oh, and if you irrationally tried to turn the tables on them, accuse them of fascism,
and “warn Taylor Swift that Republican fascism bans women from singing” or whatever,
they’ve got an answer for that, too: because, apparently, fascism and communism are left-wing.
(While the right-wing is just common sense, 4th of July, and Mom’s apple pie.)
For some reason, Blackburn reminds me of Michele Bachmann. Maybe they went to the same school…
I shudder to think about future grads from that institution.
Not many USians realize that the originals of many songs by Canadian women are very different from the versions released in the US, from Joni Mitchell’s Big Yellow Tractor, to k. d. lang’s The Study of Communist Theory Has Eased My Constant Craving For Food, to Shania Twain’s Man These Denim Coveralls Make Me Feel Like Increasing Productivity.
Alanis Morissette’s Ironic, of course, was banned outright.
You’d think all of the citizens of Tennessee would be ashamed of having an ignoramus as a Senator, but for many of them it’s something to be proud of.
Ah the old “I’m not the fascist, you’re the fascist!” Swithcheroo. Gets me every time.
i’m amazed she’s not from my state of texas. she sounds like some folks i know.
Marsha, Marsha, Marsha…
Man, imagine what the careers of Bjork or Abba would have been like if not for Socialism™
