We had two Main Coon cats. Smartest cats I’ve ever owned. They would work together to get themselves out of the inward-rotating bathroom door we’d locked them in when retrieving groceries.
One would hook his paw under the door and pull, while the other rotated the door handle until it unlatched.

Our 2 rescues are part Maine coon and definitely agree about the smartness! I swear they understand some words. Either that or they’re telepathic. And the tails are a thing of magic.

I actually did know a Maine Coon who was telepathic. I’m serious. Spend some time sitting quietly near one of them, holding an image clearly in your mind of a simple behavior you want them to do, & then picture the reward you will give (scritches or snacks work well). It may take a few tries. Be sure you come through with the reward if they cooperate.
