Watch: James Carville's assessment of the "weird" and "crazy" GOP is spot on

Agreed 100%. I was shocked this past year to see the phrase “big lie” move from progressive media into the mainstream. The reason this happened is because after Jan 6th some people started to realize what many people of all political stripes had been saying since at least 2016; that trump was deadly serious when he said he wouldn’t accept the results of an election he didn’t win (or win enough for his fragile ego) and with the might of the executive he could actually pull off a coup. But the point is that it was only because those who were aware did not couch their language in euphemisms and didn’t accept being told they were Chicken Little.

We all need to be a whole lot more Maxine Waters and a whole lot less James “Being Woke is the Problem” Carville.

Yeah, seriously. It’s like oh, they aren’t fascists, they’re just eccentric! Well, that’s okay, then! (No, no it isn’t.)

Weird??
That’s the best he can come up with?
Hasn’t he been listening to those people?

They’ve been sliding rightwards for decades & taking the Democratic Party with it, such that the current POTUS is little better than a moderate Repblican of 40 years ago.

Every now & then they would let their inner Authoritarianist slip into the daylight, like when, on May 21, 1999, Bush the Lesser proclaimed: “There ought to be limits to freedom.”
This was in response to a website that was making fun of him… and this was before he was installed as POTUS by the deeply corrupt SCOTUS.

Now, of course, it is now no less than a Fascist Death Cult, and one that increasingly seems to have no qualms about calling for the elimination of their foes.
The GOP is dead, as is so-called ‘conservativism’, & referring to the FDC by either of those terms is not only inaccurate, but gives them legitimacy & normalization they do not deserve.

The FDC isn’t a ‘cancer’. It is gangrene.
Cancer, at least, usually has hope of a cure…

The big intersection of the two is the “Losing any election is an existential threat, so anything is justified in the name of winning.” as their central ideology. They’re cornered rats, tripling down on bringing out the base rather than moderating their policies. So they embrace and actively encourage crazies if that is what it takes to win. They try and pass antidemocratic laws and promulgate absurd lies because as a minority party, they are desperately cornered rats. What was once a cynical attempt to energize their “base” has resulted in desperate crazies in charge.

When James Carville calls you weird…
