Watch live as Christine Blasey Ford testifies at the Brett Kavanaugh hearing

for some reason I misread this as “for the last 24 years,” but it still made sense

Boy, just look at all the new friends Kavanaugh has been making this week.

Graham: This is not a job interview.

The fuck it isn’t. Somebody should ask Graham just what the hell he thinks this is, then.

That’ll be Jordaddy’s cue to weigh in on the unfairness of it all.

The problem is that Democrats don’t have a majority, and Manchin leaning toward voting to confirm Kavanaugh just lends cover to the couple of Republicans who might be wavering, because a “yea” vote from a Democrat means one more Republican has to turn on their party to block it. Backstabbing bluedoggery actively undermines Democrats’ ability to extract anything from Republicans in situations like this.

Cory Booker is knocking it out of the park right now. Too bad it falls on deaf ears with the GOP members on the panel.

I hope Jeff Flake rots in hell. And until then, I hope someone mails him pictures of his sorry fucking face staring at the floor of the Senate elevator while he’s being berated by sexual assault survivors every day for the rest of his miserable fucking life. Bonus points for including news clippings of every disgusting supreme court decision Kavanaugh votes on.

That has to sting.

I would REALLY like to see a comparison of Tobin’s and Timmy’s house With Dr. Ford’s recollections. Have her draw a floorplan and compare it to the actual ones. Get some contemporary photos of the interiors and see whether she can pick them out from other, similar ones. If we could narrow down that THIS was the time and place, other facts might be shaken out.

Yep. Flake flaked. He had all the stars in alignment to do the right thing. He expressed doubt about Kavanaugh. So if he cared about the so-called sanctity of the Supreme Court, why would he support the nomination of someone tainted with doubt? He had all the cover in the world too. As a Mormon, he could have gone with the simply prevaricating about drinking that showed Kavanaugh’s character, and taken the moral high ground, backed up by his own church with a letter from Mormon women as cover.

Yeah the “I was a hard working student and athlete” defense is just pissing me off. That is not at issue. The question is “Are you also a hard-drinking, sexist asshole that might reasonably be expected to have done this?” Also how honest do you seem? Certainly his yearbook and people who knew him speak to the first part, and his obvious dissembling on how much he drank and it’s effects on him, as well as his repeated mis-characterization of the statements by other potential witnesses speak to the second point. I certainly haven’t seen enough that if this was a criminal case, I could find him guilty beyond a reasonable doubt. But he comes off as an angry, entitled prick that I can easily picture doing this and either not remember it or lying about it afterwards.

It’s like how so many journalists keep putting “Stanford swimmer” in front of Brock Turner’s name as if that was in any way relevant to the crime that made him infamous.

Fixed! [Gotta keep him at the top of the search engine results with his correct appellation. ]

while @ficuswhisperer may be right. We can also consider it possible he is willing to delay a short time to get more info. Face value effort here is possible.

FTA:

saying he would vote to advance the nomination given that deal

IOW “let’s make it appear as if we care even though it won’t make a shred of difference.”

Maybe it’s just poor wording, but I highly doubt it.
