So many people in Congress must be fucking incensed right now. Not only over what happened, but that Tromp apparently wanted it to happen, and caused it to happen by cheering it on, and maybe even further helped by pulling backstage levers – all of which not only “desecrated the halls of Congress,” but fucking endangering their lives.
I hope all of that outraged fury is about to propel Tromp out of the White House.
And worse, their careers.
The younger Democratic Representatives are definitely boiling over with righteous fury (Tlaib is drafting impeachment articles, Bush is drafting expulsion legislation, Porter has signed onto both things, and AOC is even going after Cruz on Twitter for his complicity). I only hope that their more… “esteemed” colleagues aren’t so inured to this whole shitty “politics is a game between friendly rivals” bullshit that they try to brush this event under the carpet.

Well, these are the same people that seem to care about staying rich and powerful above all else.

You want to know what makes it even funnier?
It happened behind the restaurant that is on local news constantly for openly defying the governor’s health and safety orders.
Someone who works for them I’ve never met.
It was a shity thing that happened but I drive by there and I see the entire parking lot full of trucks with Maga Flags they are all getting the disease crowded together in their diseased restaurant.
I find really surprising that they would have taken the congress back by all means necessary without protest if they were ordered to, but since someone hasn’t given their blessing, they would not move a muscle to save democracy.
It is very strange how the us is completely unprepared to deal with a self-coup.
The insurrection died because of trump’s inaction and cowardice, not because there was a reaction to the coup.
If, instead of trying to make lame excuses that he wasn’t supporting the insurrection, he had took some risks, he might have succeeded.
And that is something that have to be hammered on his supporters, they took a risk to their lives and could take the congress, just to be abandoned by trump and now have to flee the justice.

We’re seeing a growing number of reports which suggest that top members of the President’s administration are simply avoiding the President or ignoring him. It’s possible the President is in such a mental state that he’s not giving anyone any orders or that he’s already given ones that have been refused. (Again, trying to piece together the pieces of evidence about mobilizing the National Guard yesterday.) The President only has to watch television right now to know that there’s a growing likelihood he’ll face criminal charges for the events of the last 48 hours, let alone things which may have happened over the last four years. That certainly terrifies this President. Yet he has 13 more days with the vast powers of the President to act out on what he is likely experiencing as an existential threat and a consuming rage against those who believes have betrayed him. This is to put it mildly a highly dangerous and unstable situation.
