What a sweet song. I grew up with John Denver records and some of the Mamas and the Papas.
Interesting @frauenfelder. The Wikis say this was the pilot episode on August 19, 1972, which would make sense for a voter registration drive.
Anyway, I never really appreciated John Denver’s music, per se, but always loved his voice. And Mama Cass’ rendition of Dream a Little Dream of Me is heavenly.
ETA: Ah, at 1:03 in the video it says August 19, 1972.
@frauenfelder Thank you for pointing this out. It was sweet and a bit sad to watch. I realize how much I miss both of them and how long we’ve been without their voices.
Cass was way before her time on a lot of issues, I saw great photos of her at Sonoma State, like early 70 - 71 before the college was brought into the California University system. She mugged it up for the camera and the folks, what the event was about I haven’t a clue.
That was frickin awesome.
