Looks like that cat might be blind in one eye?
Have a more elaborate olfactory system (aka le snoot) you gain sensory data, but lose a bit of vertical visual field. (“also the video ended a little soon to assure Jerry’s scheme defeated Tom in the end”)
The cats likely next step is to crouch down and wait, at which point the mouse is in real trouble.
I suspect it may have gotten a bit more graphic if they continued (assuming they didn’t pick their cat up to give the mouse a chance to escape for real).
Amazing coincidence that the person was filming at the moment the mouse came out from under the door.

Also why cats have whiskers. Their vision’s not great immediately up close for scampering things, so they can feel their prey when they’re trying to finish the chase.

Cats are farsighted. And have very little peripheral vision.
