I knew it was old because the nypd has made no effort whatsoever to enforce traffic rules of any kind since pre-covid. My neighborhood is over run by dirt bike dudes pulling wheelies with no muffler. Amazing they can do it with all of the double parkers in the way.
I asked a policeman friend why they do nothing and the he said they were afraid of getting sued or starting a protest. I think that’s BS, but he does actually believe it. So something needs to be done to reassure good cops that they can do their work while also telling the a hole cops that there are repercussions to bad behavior.
Does NY have a helmet law? Looks to me like the cop is the one who is guilty of reckless driving.
