I hope Marc-Uwe had a discussion with the kangaroo about the difference between private, personal and collective property. Generally someones home isn’t considered to be private property, but personal property that reverts to collective property when it isn’t being used.

No personal property is more of a utopian socialist idea than Marxist, it comes from the proto-socialist writings of Étienne-Gabriel Morelly., Yes, he influenced Karl Marx and the social anarchists, but we dropped that idea very quickly because it is unworkable in the modern world.

Maybe I need to have a communist kangaroo move in with me too.

What’s really weird, I understood every word he said.

Nope.

Nice to see they left in the Porsche and the pool. And yes, it’s a bit different from the books, different medium and all that, but it looks like they used the opportunity for a couple of updates. Roughly material from the fist two books.

I hope they’ll make a sequel, with all the stuff about the penguin.

Yes, extensively. At least in the books. It’s all really funny, but no joke if you know what I mean. Kling did his homework, as far as I can tell.

Correction: penguins.
At first it seems to be only one, the exact opposite of The Kangaroo. Then it turns out there is a global semi-secret organisation of penguins, all evil capitalists, whose endgame is to turn the whole world into one gigantic airport.

Somebody I know wrote a furry communist manifesto and I realize a lot of it came out of conversations we had in the past. That was the moment I realized my life went in directions that would have been a bit incomprehensible to me as a kid.

It looks awesome, does anyone know how to watch it? There is nothing on The Pirate Bay…

I wonder whether it works in translation. The books are such a German thing, anchored in a specific socio-economic milieu. I don’t quite know why but somehow it feels like it wouldn’t translate, culturally.

Really, the little tuxedos should have given the game away. Never trust anyone who’s in formal wear all the time.
