Birds bond to a degree that can only be described as psychotically obsessive if it was in humans. But because it’s a bird, it’s adorbs.

It does become a problem when the bird outlives the human, though. My grandma had a bird that was so in love with her that nobody could get close to her if the bird was in the room. It would attack you to protect grandma at all costs. After grandma died, we had to have the bird put down. It was totally un-handleable by anyone else and was dangerous to be around. Really a sad ending, unfortunately. God it was cute how much that bird loved her, though.

Is the cute bird’s pupil that’s doing that? These birds are just amazing. Too bad for the bird, it has mate bonded to a creature it can’t reproduce with. But it’s cute!
