Thanks for that reply. I am starting to see your perspective of being a proud redneck. I was just moving some heavy furniture down a stairwell with a NASA engineer who would have been proud to have found this solution.

BTW the forearm forklift does indeed work.

I have a pair in my garage. Nothing better for moving those extra-thick king-size pillowtop mattresses. (Those built-in cloth handles on the side simply rip right off more often than not.) They allow you to support a goodly weight nearer your center in such a way that the weight is pulling downward at a steeper angle from your shoulders rather than farther in front of you. It places less angular stress on your back as well as on your biceps. Any weight heavy enough to break your forearms with these would be too heavy to lift anyway.

I was hoping to see a couple of big, gap-toothed guys with open beercans slide down the wire and land on the couch… or maybe slam into the back of it.
