Nobody said anything about a Merman!
The Little Mermaid (1989) was a game changer for the millennial generation; this doesn’t faze me at all.

Cool.
I can see why the tail is the preferred costume.
Nothing against fish.
Well, up to a point.
As a former sailor, I found that very informative and slightly arousing.
MUNICIPAL AQUATIC CENTER RESERVATION BOARD
8:30-9:45am: K-4 Swimming Lessons
10:00-11:30: Water Aerobics for Seniors
11:45-1:00pm: Bunch of Weirdos Dressed as Mermaids Flopping Around Giving Meaningful Looks to Each Other
1:15-2:00pm: sanitize pool
2:15-4:00pm: Swim Team Tryouts
High fashion in a swimming pool? No thank you. I’d much rather visit these clowns.

But mermaids? They ain’t got no Virginias!
Can I just friggin’ swim between 11:30 and 11:45?
not that there’s anything wrong with that
Why is the fish part of merfolk rotated 90 degrees to the rest of the body? The tail fin should be perpendicular to its canonical orientation.
You don’t see a centaur where the human part is facing to the side of the horse part. This makes no sense.
Maybe merfolk are flounder based.
