Land borders are a factor re spreading inside continental Europe.
Like just popping over to do some shopping or skiing - and some people still do that right now.

I absolutely didn’t say that! I was thinking about people living in Germany but working in Switzerland or using the Öresund Bridge between Denmark and Sweden.

Herd immunity is a vaccine strategy. Trying to apply it with the actual disease is like preventing an accidental house fire by setting it alight yourself.
