I have no patience for the so called religious right, but this seemed to me to be authentic and natural for him - he wasn’t saying “Look at me, I’m praying on Television, I’m such a wonderful person!” Instead I think he was reacting to a horrendous situation, and if it gave him and others some comfort, then I see no harm done. It would have been different if he had pulled a Baker and followed up by asking for money.
Yep, there isn’t a single religious person who has been an activist…

Many churches have actively participated in social justice campaigns across American history.
Let’s stop letting right wingers dictate terms like “religious”… Just because the hateful bigots are the loudest wing of organized religion, doesn’t mean that there aren’t millions of religious Americans who actively work for social justice. Many, MANY do… but they tend to not scream over the airwaves about what they’re doing, because they’re just doing what they feel is the right thing to do in this world - try and improve it how they can, rather than doing it for the attention or the glory.
Bravo, well said and 100% true.
Many people around here have tornado shelters dug into their yards. Like a root cellar, in many cases.
And at your local big-box hardware store you can buy them. They usually have them sitting out front, waiting to be bought.

Ah. Amazon sells them, of course.
