They say my closest match is anarcho-communism, but also give me a 100% match for council communism and 95.8% for eco-anarchism. I get 0% for marxism-leninism.

I can’t find any reason to disagree with them.

(A serious question or two. Is this off topic and if it is should it be moved to a new topic?)

I think it should be its own topic since I expect additional posts specific to this survey.

BTW here’s mine:

Not sure I entirely agree with this assessment but whatevs.

After taking the test it seems I am not the type of communist who like to answer too many questions.

I’m the kind who thinks that whole thing looks like too much tedious trouble to bother with.

I’m the kind of person who doesn’t like to do questionnaires on the Internet because they’re frequently a front for some organization who wants to classify me. Isn’t that how Cambridge Analytica got their first toehold?

“Which kind of Hobbit are you?” And so on.

You appear to have taken a different test. The one we used was:

https://leftvalues.github.io

(Which appears to be a fork of the 8values test interestingly enough.)

Good thing all the source code is right there to see what it’s doing.

I could argue that posting this sort of thing is just providing ammunition for FBI interrogators of the future, but basically any decent person who’s ever posted honestly about politics online is already fucked in that regard, so it doesn’t really matter.

I’m okay with that.

Meh. My granddad did spook work for the army and there are already records on me from what I gather.

You used the 8Values quiz instead of the LeftValues quiz which is based off it.

I got about a dozen question in before I called it quits. Like most of these questionnaires, there’s myriad ambiguous presuppositions and it really slows the process down when on most of the questions you have to try to guess what the author(s) of the question mean. Not really a criticism of the authors, but probably an inevitable limitation of trying to reduce complex societal issues to the internet equivalent of a scanatron test.

It seems a whole lot easier and more accurate to let people know I want to live in a fully automated anarcho-libertarian society with syndicalist tendencies, tell them I’d be down with living in one of the Culture Ulterior societies, and then hand them an Iain M. Banks novel and say let’s do this, but we’ll need to keep an eye on those Special Circumstances bastards.

They were and still are the original libertarians, who disagreed with Orthodox Marxism because they believed it would lead to authoritarianism and social democracy because they believed it wouldn’t fix the problems that the wider working class have (the band-aid on a broken bone problem). It fills the gap between and overlaps with Democratic socialism and Anarcho-Communism.

Libertarian Capitalism only came a century after it and has little in common.
