Whatcha Watchin' (Season 2)

Almost as good as their Ozymandias promo…

The Bubble was a recent Netflix recommendation:

Ok, I couldn’t help comparing this to Tropic Thunder, which had a faster pace. Still, The Bubble made me laugh while poking fun at both the film industry and the pandemic. I’m probably gonna have a tough time focusing during meditation for a while, too.

Recently started this show (HBO). It’s really good, but completely devoid of superpowers, murders, aliens, zombies, or hot sexy actors:

Also just stumbled on this (BBC):

Fucking hilarious

Just saw Everything, Everywhere All At Once and all I can say is that Doctor Strange is going to have a helluva challenge ahead if he wants to dethrone Michelle Yeoh as the new reigning champion of the Multiverse.

I have that one on my radar too, will probably start it soon.

Just finished the season finale of Severance. Just…wow. This show is so fucking good and I am so glad it has already been renewed. I hate that it will be so long before I get to see more, but I am really glad to know that I will. This show is incredible.

So…just vampires, werewolves, and witches then? Or is it robots. I bet they are all robots.

Very interesting animation using felt maquettes. The humor is rather dark.

Yes. Very good indeed. I think we could consider this show as a slice of life anime but with American characters and real actors. It doesn’t have heroes, villains or that so-called gray zone cynicism. They are ordinary people with somewhat unusual lives like so many we know. They may live in the middle of a cornfield in the American Midwest, but there’s a lot of universal stuff there.

Dude. Spoilers. That’s not until season two.

I loved that. I thought it was lovely and weird.

It was the perfect place to end the season, but the most cruel for the fans. I also appreciate how we got a nice (but terrible) reveal about one of our characters while casually opening up a mystery about another.

The creator of Severance answers a few questions about the finale, the creation of the show, and provides a few other anecdotes. But it course nothing about how long we need to wait until season 2 or exactly what to expect other than “fallout.”

How sweet would it have been to not know about this beforehand and that’s not an attack on you by any means, it would have been hard to avoid, from a simple web search or errant tweet…

So I’m becoming pretty invested in From, and I’m wondering how similar in tone or structure it is to Lost (which I don’t really care to go back and watch). Would a Lost viewer feel like this is just more of the same?

This was really funny.

On Netflix now.

Two kids try to get their shit together to play in the Battle of the Bands. Full of swearing and Metal songs and with a lot of heart too. Also features some relationship advice from actual Metal Gods.
