Whatcha Watchin' (Season 2)

Watched Die Kängaru-Chroniken on my flight home yesterday.

A pretty silly film overall. I did like the throwbacks to Pulp Fiction and The Big Lebowski though.

If you liked the anime I cannot recommend the manga highly enough. Like Akira, the manga version greatly expands the scope of the already epic story, and is entirely written and drawn my the original creator. This edition is worth every penny:

Oh boy! I wish I had space for all these cool stuff. Thanks a lot. This comic book was released here in a erracticaly way. I think it is better buying an english version anyway.

Speaking in stage adaptations…

Looks like it was published 10 years ago? Or is this a new edition?

Season 2 of Undone on Amazon is excellent :sob:

It’s the current and best English edition. The art isn’t flipped or altered (apart from the dialog text). Transliterations of the sound effects are at the end, numbered by page and panel, rather than inserted into the art (I like this, others might not). The pages are closer to BD than manga sized.

I am trying to get through it. My dislike of the main character grows deeper every day. I just finished the third episode, and will probably hate-watch the rest.

At first, I thought Alma just had an abrasive personality, and her family backstory made her seem sympathetic. Now, because she’s bored by the life she claimed to want, her behavior is sliding into sheer assholery. She’s bullying, manipulative, and dismissive. Worse, she has no respect for anyone else’s boundaries and frames every one of her violations as “helping” the other person. Watching her be so abusive to the people she supposedly loves to satisfy her curiosity/thrill-seeking/power-tripping is alternately depressing and enraging. I hope karma comes for her in the end, and will be very disappointed if she escapes the consequences of her behavior.

It definitely has a lot of issues, and Alma is, in many ways, the worst. Without giving anything away I will just say that I was ok with how it ended and mainly really enjoyed the exploration of the various characters, their fears, mistakes, and the ripple effects of those

Been catching up on classic Doctor Who dvds from the Patrick Troughton era, with missing episodes animated. Currently watching the Web of Fear (which is the first appearance of Col. (later Brigadier) Lethbridge-Stewart)… one episode was missing and recreated via animation… it’s not… great…

I’m glad we are able to watch it, but the animation was pretty bad.

Yeaaaah…I lasted 7 minutes. Stilted acting, horrible music, AND Scooby doesn’t even bark-talk?!

I’ve been watching this one, and I think it’s pretty good, all the lemonade notwithstanding. I grew up in the Church of Christ, and despite it not being as restrictive as some denominations out there, there are still some frightening parallels.

I read the book years ago and I never pictured it as movie or miniseries (I have a serious case of unimagination). Now I feel like I should reread it and then watch this.

‘Live action Scooby Doo’ has only worked once, in all the times they’ve attempted it:
