has no one seen it yet?
I have.
It’s really quite something, as one would expect from the team that brought us Dark. If it’s anything like Dark, the next season will surely bring twists that we couldn’t even have imagined from season one.
ETA: I highly recommend Dark for anyone who was intrigued by 1899. It is one of the best original series that Netflix has made so far.
Watched it.
I didnt expect the ending to be so, different, from what came before
So am I, and I’ve read the book. Comments online say the same thing. I enjoyed the series, but they couldn’t get enough of Gibson’s story into eight episodes. I’m hoping for a second season.
I watched a few episodes but dropped it when it seemed to be shaping up to be another Lost. Too many MacGuffins for one show.
It was an excellent twist… let’s hope they get a second season, cause I’d love to where they can possible go from there…
It is not.
I’m just realizing John Francis Daley (Freaks and Geeks, Bones) is co-writer and co-director for the new Dungeons and Dragons reboot. I have hope!
The Druid: [from first trailer] What is it, exactly, that you bring to this?
The Bard: I’m a planner. I make plans.
The Druid: You’ve already made the plan, so…
The Bard: If the existing plan fails, I make a new plan.
The Druid: So you make plans that fail.
The Bard: No.
The Barbarian: He also plays the lute.
The Bard: Not relevant.
Season 13 of Archer is now online.
Good piece on Tár, filled with spoilers:
Three Pines on Amazon (multiple language/subtitle options available, too):
Interesting issue with 1899:
Oh, man, that sounds hilarious. There are so many scenes where somebody says, “What’s going on?” or “What did he just say?” in a language that nobody else there understands, so they just get ignored. That would be bizarre to watch all dubbed in English.
Alas, I watched the dubbed version. And it drove me a little bonkers.
Thanks for the heads up. I just don’t understand why on earth would Netflix make “English (dubbed)” the default setting for a movie like that? It would be like watching Return of the Jedi and having Jabba’s dialogue dubbed in English, thus making C3PO’s presence in the room completely nonsensical.
Hey, repeating lines that are already in English was good enough for Sigourney Weaver’s character in Galaxy Quest.
Oh good! We never watched dubbed stuff, so not a problem for us…
Anyone watching Inside Man?
No spoilers, please, I’ve only watched two of the four episodes so far.
David Tennant* has got himself into a pickle worthy of a Black Mirror episode.
*You know, that guy who plays the English dude in everything.
Yes, I’ve seen the entire season. There is some speculation there might be a second season, because there is more after the credits after the final/fourth episode, which seem to indicate the story might continue.
Honestly, the story made me unsettled most of the time. I kept watching because it was only 4 episodes, and David Tennant is a master at acting.
It’s not like anything else I’ve seen, so I’d recommend it for that reason, as well as what I just said above. But I could understand if someone said it wasn’t for them.
