The biggest risk is and has always been walking out of the bathroom with strand of toilet paper stuck to your shoe
Don’t put your purse or bag on the floor.
The list fails to mention Republican politicians.
The risk for me has always been depression after seeing all the racist, homophobic “wit” scratched into the paint
I’m more concerned with the risk of NOT using a public toilet.
The real risk is getting your heart broken
Paywalled, but I sure hope any contemporary NYT bathroom article mentioned the “fecal plume” emitted via the mechanics of flushing (mitigation: close the lid) and that certain pathogens might go airborne via the plume!
I also see people dropping their pants down around their ankles so that sweeps the floor while they’re seated.
Okay, sure, there’s fecal coliform everywhere in our world, and public restrooms a little more so.
However that’s not a clinical outcome. How many people actually get sick from public toilets?
Virtually zero. This is all upper middle class germaphobe fear-mongering. Wash your hands and save your worry for things that are real risks, like driving cars and gerrymandering.
As in…”Here I sit broken hearted…” etc, etc?
Yeah, i like to every now and then bring out the fact that the world we’re living in is covered in a nice coat of crap

… using them for what exactly?
Came to post this,
but denied,
I can leave,
still satisfied.
My pet peeve is a truck stop that has air hand dryers and no paper towels. How am I supposed to get out of there without touching the door handle with my freshly washed hands?
The best solution is to remove your pants entirely, and undies if on, and hang them on the hook provided for this scenario.
I had a boss that would do that while standing at a urinal. He’d drop his pants and Fruit of the Looms to the floor and stand at the urinal bare-assed. It was unsettling to walk into the men’s room and see him in there.
For the record, they did mention it a couple of times. I have no idea why I don’t see a paywall.
“Also consider closing the toilet lid before you flush as a public health measure and a kindness to others; this step reduces the toilet plume significantly.”
I do that! But only at home or a public bathroom that’s lockable.
