I don’t suppose it can be reversed by, like, taking the right vitamins or some shit like that
When hosting SNL, Donald Trump ‘struggled to read,’ says former cast member. Can the President read?
Why can’t Donny read?
Lucky for all of you, I can lip-read like a pro. Here’s what that draft Trump was reading said:
“Flaffa flabba habba hab. Flaffa gobba uffa fuff guff.”
Everything he says sounds like that.
Fun fact;
Lots of people can technically read, but their comprehension level is highly insufficient at best; and with someone as over-privileged and out of touch with reality as 45 is, I’m sure it’s even worse.
That being said:
Unless having them do the right things depends on you being able to integrate and process large volumes of written information on a daily basis. Even the dumbed down summaries Dubya requested (and still frequently mis-read and mis-interpreted) are way beyond Trump’s abilities. And since it seems none of the more capable folks he needs are willing to work with such a class-A douche we can only hope and pray that his family is able to do the real work behind the scenes and let him be no more than a (still dangerous) figurehead. Let’s face it, being president is “hard work”, (where have we heard that before?), and we have somebody in the hotseat right now who is literally not mentally capable of handling the job.
Exactly this.
All the Trump voters I know were almost literally holding their noses voting for him but felt that it was the only way they could make their dissatisfaction with that 10% heard.
So, like, haystack, your understanding is that the average voting schmucks had total, absolute control over their choice of candidate, were wholly free to ‘spoil’ a ballot and have it count as a ‘none-of-the-above’ vote like in Canada, were not inundated with high-priced propaganda for decades, had enough time on their hands to make informed choices… and are therefore contemptible creatures for failing to return the only decent result?
Damn. You people live in a great democracy. I wish I could live in a place like that. Truly, your virtue flows like a great river. I’ve got to step aside now, on account of how mightily fine you all are. I understand, in retrospect, why you seem to see the average voter as soil beneath your feet.

As if anything mattered. Anyone can see. Nothing really matters to he.
so, a guy who is too dumb to read beat the most powerful political machine in history, fooled all of the experts who populate the mass media, and ten career politicians from his own party. Who are the real morons?
Was Corcoran a good or bad teacher? Were his students successful? (haven’t read the article yet). The headline doesn’t say what he taught. If it was woodwork then literacy is not so important (I don’t mean totally unimportant of course).
I have pretty severe dyslexia my self, his avoidance strategys are typical, still it’s no excuse, I’m fluent in 4 languages, and typically write with text corrections on, I also read about a book a week but normally get the audio version also, since listening to a book is about the same speed as reading it for me, and I can listen to it during my commute to work.
People who join discussion forums solely to post vacuous faux-witty retorts, thought up by someone else, with the fantasy that in doing so they will somehow pwn the forum?
Not to get too far off top 24 Sussex is far from a palace. Its nice. But old. And ever successive PM had been reluctanct to renovate it because they dont want to been seen wasting money. But its drafty and cold and Trudeau had the balls to fix it.
Also Rick Mercers been there a few times. This ones my fave.
And in the news of the deplorables… it wasnt change or economics, it was race. And we ignore that at our peril.
Sigh. Euro-style soft socialism works – most of my family’s lived under it all their lives. Do they have criticisms about the government budget and so on? Sure. But they can also see their tax dollars at work.
Hint: hitting the “gack, we don’t want to be like those foreigners!” button doesn’t work on an international forum, which BB mostly is.
You’re going to need to do better than just spouting catch-phrases around here. There’s a reason why BBS comments tend to go long.
I’m not sure I would call Putin’s political machine the most powerful in history, but it certainly is very powerful in our times, and has been working diligently for a long time to put the puppet they want into the job.
Trump didn’t beat anything, he was the guy at the poker table who couldn’t tell who the patsy was.
Ye gods, I totally forgot Paul Martin used to be our PM. That feels like two lifetimes ago. (Sorry Mr. Martin)
Going to Canadian Tire to fix the PM’s official residence, using a (really beautiful!) Inuit carving to hide a carpet stain – that whole segment was just soaking in maple syrup .
Have you actually been anywhere in western Europe for anything longer than a week vacation? Have you ever talked to people who live there and learned what their daily lives are like? Or are you just spouting off tired cliches with no basis in fact?
Travel and listen to others. Talk to people from other cultures. You might just learn how wrong you are.
Here’s a hint: the US is losing very bigly compared to these other countries.
Welcome to Boing Boing, comrade.
You seemed to miss my “between the lines” meaning.
His one skill set, and the one people seemed to have “hired” him for - is telling other what to do. And that was all he really needed at his old job.
There are many more skill sets he NEEDS to be president.
