A great piece I’ve re-visited regularly over the years. “Mr. C” immediately brings to mind J.D. Vance, so eerily accurate is the description. But the essay proves equally helpful in identifying the allies as well as the fascists.

This is a game no-one wants to play, but that we all might have to if we want to survive the worst. I’ve been playing it lately, including with people I know and even like. The results have been somewhat disheartening.
