Maybe I’m lucky but I’ve never encountered such a receptionist at any doctor’s office I’ve ever been to.
Every receptionist I’ve ever met has been polite and helpful.
Even the receptionists at the lab I visit on a regular basis are great.

You are, indeed, lucky. Not every receptionist I’ve encountered is like this, but it’s not out of left field.

Although I find this funny, I have to say, she’s really not the norm. I’ve worked as a medical receptionist/biller for over 30 years and never acted like that. On top of it, anyone who acted like that would have been laughed at by co-workers.
