I’ve used scooters recently to get me from A to B, and this YouTuber reveals an important flaw in Lime scooters that may be worth keeping in mind, albeit through a clickbaity title. There are also some good safety tips to which I will add:

If you are going the wrong way down a bike lane (there are fucking arrows) you are an asshole.

Those thingies are not roadworthy.

The problem I’ve noticed with the lime ones is that they are too slow to be fun. The skips are waaaaaay faster.
