I’m thinking of burned cheese and lukewarm toppings. I’m not a pizza chef, so I don’t know what the difference is between a continuous feed pizza oven set on high speed/high temp and a hot, wood-fired pizza oven, or if the difference is more in how the pizzas are constructed…

I was not commenting on the health benefits of ingested yoga mats, just offering an explanation for the unnatural rubbery smell emanating from Subway shops. Once I heard about the chemical leavening agents I figured that must be it.

You didn’t comment on their health benefits, but you did state that Subway uses a chemical in their bread which they do not. Google helps people on message boards not post incorrect facts these days, I hear.

Sorry, you’re so right. I should have clarified that I haven’t set foot in a Subway in at least 5 years, which should take care of the timeline issue. Hope Subway survives my carelessness.

There was nothing ever “rubbery” about the food additive azodicarbonamide. The “yoga mat” comparison came from a professional purveyor of anti-science and fearmongering nonsense who goes by the self-anointed moniker of “Food Babe”. Bread is made with water. So is sewage. We don’t go around yelling that Subway bread is made with a sewage processing chemical.
