Why was Arkansas governor Sarah Huckabee Sanders' fancy $19,000 lectern put on a government credit card?

Came here to post something similar. An “accounting error” would be us regular folks forgetting to carry the one or some such.

But any entity (government or otherwise) worth its salt uses actual accountants and while it’s true mistakes can be made, it’s almost never that. “Accounting errors” to me means something shady is going on.

I thought I read somewhere that it was alleged the money was used to finance a trip to Paris for Huckabee & her BFF’s and the lectern was just used as a budget item to cover it up.

To make sure the price tag is just below the threshold of needing to report the expense.

Exactly. The paper trail was found. As well as attempts at cover up.
