Maybe she wanted to be an Urban Fantasy elf?
Well, it’d the Mail, so that’s probably a lie. Plus, they spend a lot of their time denigrating ttractive, famous women for going outside having not done just that, so fuck 'em.
Yep. Saw that, stopped reading. There’s never a reason to quote or link to the Mail.
Why was the tag #potential-mistakes applied, instead of #happy-mutants?
Yeah, unfortunately…
Another important thing to note here is that not all transgender people want or need to have surgery. The first non-medical usage of transgender even excluded people who wanted or had surgery, and exclusively used by full time crossdressers (read about Virginia Prince for more on that).
A good reason why trandgender should be kept as an umbrella term is because transphobes do not care if you have gender dysphoria, don’t identify as male or female, or just dressing up as the opposite gender because you like the clothes. We are a small enough group as it is, we need to keep working together if we are to fight for our rights, not split up into smaller groups that are weaker.
I’m well aware of the history of the term transgender. It has no legal or medical meaning, so it’s definition is a little fluid. I used it as “someone who’s genger identity is different than that assigned at birth” and that definition didn’t fit the cross dresser I was referring to, who certainly would have recoiled if anyone applied the term transgender to them. Also, I’m purposefully avoiding gender specific pronouns when referring to them because I’m no longer in contact with them and have no idea what pronouns they use. I just know they had gender confirmation surgery without obtaining a letter from a therapist first, later regretted it, and came to believe that every trans person was either gay, or a cross dresser, and just really confused. They were, frankly, an awful person. My only point is that, in my opinion, requiring some counseling prior to major, significant, and permanently body alterin surgery isn’t a bad idea.
That’s the thing, the reason why I’m surprised he hadn’t done the ears first - they got popular even with people who weren’t doing the whole hardcore elf cosplay, but just because they liked the look.
Oh, good to hear! I’m so happy for you! Good luck!
Yeahhhhh…“us…”
Haha! I just realized…“elf on the self”.
What do we make of this kind of elective surgery?
Ah, the magic of the free market at work.
Just think, without his willingness to pay the $35k price tag, the world would never have known that this series of cosmetic surgery was the most important destination for these health care resources. Why, some misguided people may have even tried to insist on covering the millions of uninsured people in the US first.
(\s because Poe’s law)
In the UK the crossdresser/drag inclusive definition was introduced in 1990s (one of the London Prides, the first one to be called LGBT Pride), and is used by the police, NHS and many other British organisations.
So it does have a legal meaning here, although there are people who want to change it to being exclusively for people wanting surgery, which was never the intent.
Santa shook “like a bowl full of jelly” and he was a jolly old elf.
