Interesting times.
Didn’t I hear about this (plague) in NorCal, too?
Ah, yes:
Eeesh!
“Healthy people don’t have to worry about typhus or the plague!” in 3… 2… 1…
I hate rats! I especially hate dead rats. I suspect all of them to be conservatives, republicans or worse.
How do we get white supremacists to start chugging Marburg virus instead of milk?
“It sounds German!”
Growing up in the southwest, we were always taught not to play with dead animals. Plague, anthrax, and Hanta (aka sin nombre) were and still are common. And living near several mines, we learned how to identify and avoid explosive detonators. We did duck and cover exercises from time to time to break up the monotony. Oh, and there was the time we got a demo of what a high voltage line will do to you, so don’t climb those towers.
Ah, childhood memories…
Hanta is spread in feces and dander dust. Don’t sweep dusty areas unless you’re wearing a respirator.
“I know an old woman
who lifted a fly.
I don’t know why she
carried a fly.
I guess she’ll die.”
And on and on until we get to the rat, and she keels over…
She’ll get toxoplasmosis
when she carries a cat
to chase the rat…
“So, the good news is, you don’t have COVID.”
She’ll be very bad-tempered
When getting distemper
From carrying a dog to chase the cat…
Dang it! This happened just a few blocks from my house. Better step up the flea management on our dog.
She’ll get rabies
from fetching the dog,
to chase the cat
that ate the rat…
