Adding my voice of support and sisterhood to this thread. I mostly just lurk the BBS, but I clearly remember one of the first topics I weighed in on was about abortion. That was… a choice I made 
. In general as a woman on the internet I tend to self edit, but folks like @Melizmatic remind me about the merit of being loud. It’s exhausting fighting to be heard, but it’s easier when we shout together.

Anyone who thinks women’s voices don’t get dismissed is ignoring every single time BB posts an article about the Bechdel test or women’s portrayals in media, and how men jump in to defend how unfair it is we judge a movie/comic/TV show/game where the white male hero can shrug off debilitating injuries as not meeting a standard, because “women weren’t in [field] during [historical period].”
If you’re willing to suspend disbelief for your invincible hero, but not for the presence of women, “historical accuracy” isn’t the issue.
