The Secret Rulers of the World Part 4: “The Satanic Shadowy Elite?”
Original air date: 20 May 2001
Jon Ronson follows conspiracy theorist and radio host Alex Jones as Jones attempts to infiltrate the annual gathering of dignitaries and business leaders (reportedly including George Bush and Henry Kissinger) at the Bohemian Grove. The film includes footage of attendees dressed in robes and burning an effigy at the foot of a giant stone owl. Jones believes that the ceremony is related to occult secret societies. After the event, Ronson meets comedy actor and fellow attendee Harry Shearer who describes the event as a glorified fraternity party. Shearer largely dismisses Jones’s dramatic retelling of the gathering and notes that the music is supplied by the Symphony Orchestra of San Francisco.
That’s actually really good. Even if you haven’t seen AJ’s Dark Secrets: Inside Bohemian Grove which is really bad.
A pretty good breakdown about how triple A game development encourages bad games and even worse working environments
This seems to be part of Biden’s MO: solve the immediate problem as quickly as possible by building wide consensus and compromise; while also working long-term to study the problem and apply pressure to reach better results that are sustainable.
It’s not as forceful as some of us want. It’s not flashy. As Beau says, this will go unnoticed by a lot of people who should hear about it. Maybe he needs better PR. But he really does seem to work to get the right thing done eventually and succeed most of the time.
It occurred to me that the lack of flash might be intentional-letting the right wing whackos distract themselves from what is getting accomplished, so that they don’t derail it.
Of course, that means that most folks don’t see the accomplishments, making it easy for them to dismiss Biden as doing nothing.
It’s also media bias. Government getting things done that are meaningful but mundane isn’t attention-grabbing. Even TNYT and TWP have gone all in on sensationalism over informing the public about news that tangibly affects people’s daily lives.
