Thing about riot police is they don’t hide it, it’s right there in the name, they will riot every time. And people will be hurt. I was watching other footage of them firing tear gas into the wind earlier.
British police have had success with de-escalation and minimising violence in travelling football support. If they moved past the idea of punishing protestors they might actually be useful. They aren’t.
And yes. I saw lots of footage of brutal criminal assaults by rioting riot cops in France.
I’m not in touch with any protestors now in France but lots of things jump out ( the umbrellas are carried by protestors against drones for example) but mostly: what are the riot police fighting for? Really what? I have seen them on fire and also the fire brigade striking. Cop rioting won’t work for them.
When the Brazilian media show these French protests, they always show the same thing: cars on fire in Paris. We usually joke that the Parisian citizen should carry a Molotov cocktail under his/her arm along with a baguette. The protests in Brazil, even the most violent ones, don’t even come close to what happens in France. I read some posts from Brazilians who live in Paris and they say that the police also tend to hit them hard.
Mr. Bolsonaro says that the federal police operation was triggered only to create facts and versions that benefit his enemies and that he did not need to forge documents to enter the United States because he never took that vaccine.

How did He enter the USA when vaccines were mandatory for travellers as He never had the shots? If it is true, forgering documents is a crime here and in USA too…
That’s exactly the problem. He is being accused of having used fraudulent documents to enter the United States in 2021. As He claims not to have taken a vaccine and could not have returned to the United States in 2022.
The Police is saying that He even made a document for His daughter, which can lead to an accusation of child abuse. His wife confirmed that their dughter wasn’t vaccined.

Possibly he traveled to the United States without needing present any documents, as He was Head of State in 2021. But from January 2023, when He needed a tourist visa, the documents that could prove He was vaccinated were mandatory. And those papers supposedly turned out to be fake. Maybe this one of the reason for His return to Brazil

Accordint to the newspaper Metrópoles, Mr. Bolsonoro was in a kind of VIP list, people who didn’t need to show sanitary documents, as American Government sources told them.
