It knows it can fly, right? I suppose maybe it has too much integrity to duck rules.

This new “Air Bud” film is weird. “Ain’t no rule that says a duck CAN’T run a marathon!”

KEEP GOING DUCK!

I have a 13lb miniature poodle that likes to run with me. She’s run some a couple of 5k fun runs, but she has a signal to be picked up for rests after about 2k. Then she insists on being set down again to run more. I don’t think she could do anything farther, but she sure does want to participate.

Even more impressive considering Wrinkle has flat feet.

that’s a pretty arch comment

Yeah, seems kinda evil to make a bird run everywhere.

I used to own a small flock of ducks (15 ducks of varying breeds), so this amused me greatly.

Pretty sure Wrinkle is an American Pekin. They’re heavy-bodied ducks (bred for meat), so while they can fly into a tree to avoid a predator, they can’t stay aloft for any significant distance.

(This was Lucy, our Pekin.)

They’re normally not keen to run much, so I’m impressed she’s so game to run the marathon.

There are ducks that do like to run, though-- Indian Runners:

(I think this was Olga.)

They love to run and move impressively fast when they’re in a hurry.

I miss having ducks. They were endlessly entertaining.

We have ducks that come to our bird feeder to eat the stuff dropped by the sparrows. The missus keeps me up to date on their comings and goings.

I miss NYC. When they love you… THEY LOVE YOU. But when they despise you (hear that Trump, MTB, LB) they’ll pay twice to drive the steamroller that flattens you.

Prediction: Wrinkles can make anywhere.
