In college, my girlfriend (now wife) was the captain of the Foot Patrol, where we would do just this: escort people around campus at night when they didn’t feel safe. It was run out of the security office. Not that many people used it, but when they did, it was a good thing to have. A very cushy work-study job, the tee-shirts were fun, and we all got walkie-talkies.
Geez, nobody pays for friends any more … just use AdBuddy (reference://Netflix/Maniac/AdBuddy (not a URL (yet), void where prohibited, see your dealer for details)).
If they didn’t call it Shoe-ber, then why bother doing it at all?
