I noticed the same, a couple of times it looked almost like a different person, but in proper Geocities fashion the photos were all fairly low-resolution and it’s down now, so I can’t go back and pore over them to nail down exactly what it was.
My guess is mediocre Photoshop retouching skills?

My understanding is that most people, including gun owners, support the idea of keeping violent people from accessing guns. That is not the same as supporting every proposed gun control measure.

Usually if the field was there at all, it’s to determine the fairness and effectiveness of the program in follow-ups. Did the minority scholarships actually show up as an option in front of minorities? Does an application process disproportionately reject certain classes of people? Do we have any reason to believe the programs we spend money on to inprove our communities are actually getting funneled tothe right place, and that everyone is included?

Yeah its a little surprising. That’s the sort of stock story that’s out there. Or at least the “well actually” version the history channel used to push. I think the take away is less “vegetarians are Hitler” and more how seamlessly vegetarianism slotted into Nazi coocoo bananas ville.
