Towns all over (including mine) are in the habit of moving old buildings like this on trucks to fill out their various historic sites and museums. I don’t think my town has any buildings from outside the area, but almost every one of our historic structures has been moved to a different site. I’ve definitely been to places down south where their “historic villages” were almost entirely composed of buildings out of New England from mis-matched dates. I’m surprised this guy couldn’t sell the building.
During my recent renovation, I installed a grey board wall of 100 year old barn wood. It looks amazing, but the important point is that it was $20-$30 per 6’ board. It’s about $5 sq/ft.
How much do you think that barn is worth?
