The vintage plane is probably his Aviat Husky:
Though “vintage” is a weird description made for something in the 80s.
No, that’s a Ryan PT-22
One of my favorite airplanes.
Hope Harrison Ford is okay and I wish him a speedy recovery.
Are you sure? It looks like an Aviat A-1B Husky to me:
I’m pretty sure (the guy above’s picture is a Husky, what’s on the LA news is a PT-22): Open cockpit, pre-WW2 livery, low wing, over-wing spurs, polished aluminum fuselage.
Oh you’re totally right!
I thought he only owned a Cessna and a Aviat. I didn’t even see the photo.
I’m a bad person… All I could think was “I hope he was flying that with a fedora and a bull whip.”
Also, I hope he’s okay.
I’m worse. I was thinking this:
looks like engine failure; the end of the prop in the pic isn’t even damaged. (and it’s wood)
my guess is this was a pretty good landing, because the PT-22 wasn’t much of a glider. glad he’s ok.
Good eye.
Flying through hyperspace ain’t like dusting crops, boy!
He had “Carbonite” blindness…
Geez, hope he’s ok.
When I lived in Jackson WY, he was famous for being a good guy. When a hiker would go missing he’d loan his plan or copter (or more likely take it out himself) to go looking for the person.
Someone told him the odds.
You’re not bad. I am bad because I wanted the headline to read:
Harrison Ford Injured Flying Solo, Plane Flies Too Low
Life imitates art. . .
Christopher Reeve - Superman - Paralized
Harrison Ford - Indiana Jones - Airplane Crash
Who’s next?
I think John Denver deserves an honorable mention here.
Except that he left us on a Prop plane, not a Jet plane.
He better be okay or you’re going to the Sarlacc Pit
I can’t imagine a better place to crash a plane than a golf course to find a doctor…
