It takes a special kind of courage to risk your health and safety, and even your life like that. There is no way I would dare drink straight out of a river in Morocco.

Depends where you are. In parts of the High Atlas, there may well be no settlements upriver to contaminate it.
I’d love to try the kayaking, but you’ll not find me in the woods without my water filter. I’ve done the stomach illness in the deep woods thing and it is officially Not Fun.
