Eating kittens is just plain wrong, and no one should do it, ever. And I even heard that from another giant arthropod.

What a happy little opening line. What a totally lovely creature…is it going to run for office somewhere?

I wonder if butter has the same affect on them as lobsters?

" . . .likes to steal silverware, and eats kittens."

Is that why it steals the silverware?

Because I’m having the most disturbingly hilarious mental images right now.

D0 they taste good?

What effect do lobsters have on them? :stuck_out_tongue:

Apparently so - sources say they retain the coconutty flavor.

Oh, man… the pictures where they are up in trees. I do not want that…

Quite tasty. Unfortunately their delicacy status has made them endangered in the South Pacific. If only tourists wanted to eat flying fox instead…

sergei is correct

Well, last time we tried bananas. Just look at what happened that time.

From an 1887 book my grandfather had, Sea and Land, J.W. Buel, a sort of Monster Manual as perceived in 1887.
“The robber-crab, peculiar to the Samoan Islands, is also a cocoanut-eater…”
And, in the illustration, likes to pull on goats!

“A group of coconut crabs is referred to as a nightmare.”

I hope this is true!

Crabs in general kinda freak me out but this kind especially.

I’m not going to check, just assume it is, as it’s too splendid to spoil.
