I just finished reading Jeffrey Toobin’s book on Patty, American Heiress: one odd thing is some well known people crossed paths with members of the SLA or with associates of the members:

I grew up in the Bay Area and this all went down when I was about ten years old. I was fascinated by all of it. I have one of the actual wanted posters with “Tania” and the other two framed in my house.

Not too keen on the idea that it’s “ironic” if middle class kids demand justice for the oppressed. As a white middle class kid, what am I supposed to do instead?

It also ignores and silences the liminal class, the ones who have experienced struggle and hardship but also had opportunities that weren’t available to the impoverished.

It’s a reminder that the working classes should not be seen or heard, because the rich and powerful might feel shame for what they are doing.
