This debate is so darn great I was about to post a . gif in my excitement.
Seriously. Women deal with this shit all the fucking time:
Hahaha whoops
How blue the sky is today will not limit the courage of those of willing to push together for uncloudy tomorrows.
I’m going to become preznit by buying everything and everyone!!
My bespoke, luxury comments command a much higher price. I’m the Hermès of sell outs.
Pete’s really going to lock up the youth vote with that one! They’ll be lining up at the polls to be forced into giving up 2+ of their prime years for service to the state (and have no doubt, Il Douche will institute a similar programme if he gets a second term).
That’s not fair to starship troopers, they had a choice.
Yep. Kinda hopey changey, really.
Hang in there Petey!
before we get in a panic about this let us not forget that military service is not the only kind of service that might be available. it may well be that options like the civilian conservation corps of the 1930s, or the peace corps, or a service organization along the lines of a domestic peace corps will be available to those who object to military service. i don’t know if a year or two of post-secondary service is necessarily a bad idea, especially if the possibilities for service are expansively outlined. if the options for service are narrowly constrained this concept will be self-punishing.
buttigieg is not my first choice, or even my second, third or fourth choice. nevertheless, i will absolutely vote for him in november if he is the party’s nominee. i’m awaiting the texas primary to cast my vote. otherwise my attitude is one of wait and see.
this is what happens when you let neural networks run your campaign. ( i heard they tried the magic eight ball too but the future was cloudy )
A year or two of national service is a pretty common thing (eg, most Scandinavian countries have it); but, as we’re a military empire in a state of perpetual war, it is hard to see this not evolving fairly quickly into a form of military conscription.
