2020 Election Thread (formerly: 2020 Presidential Candidates Thread) (Part 1)

I’m glad Elizabeth Warren kicked him in the balls. He needed it. And more.

Both trying to be the alt-Biden. “There can only be one!”

No other candidate seems to like Pete; even his younger self was more of a Sanders guy.

Got-Damn, that was a debate, tho.

I didn’t get to watch the debate live but from the highlight clips I assume that Mayor Bloomberg is currently a smoldering pile of ash that a janitor will have to sweep off the stage at some point tonight.

ETA: How’s that new CNN analyst gig going for you, Andrew?

I don’t believe he ever understood the human toll of stopping black and Latino men, 90 percent of which did not result in a summons or arrest. But the stops were frightening, humiliating and unwarranted invasions of black and brown people’s bodies.

Hardly a recommmendation.

Andrew Yang as a political commentator is like all those unmarried clergy handing out advice to married couples: No matter your charm, or good intentions, shut up.

apologies for the language, but i cant help see bloomberg’s quotes as applying to the democratic party

“Make the customer think he’s getting laid when he’s getting fucked.” Another says, “If you have them by their balls, their hearts and minds will follow.”

I hope the way everyone ganged up on Bloomberg in the debates, and beat him like a hollow drum, has reduced the Bloomberg anxiety that’s been blooming (heh!) here recently.

2016 should have taught us a lot of lessons

That’s exactly where we were five years ago with Trump.

The difference is that Trump dominated and won those debates by any objective measure. Here, Bloomberg rammed his boat onto a rock and it’s sinking.

But point noted. I won’t be happy until he is really out because you never know WTF is going to happen.

I was referring to the point in the timeline before there were any debates including Trump. When he had thrown his hat into the ring, but wasn’t nominated by the GOP yet.
You know, when saying “oh fuck, he’s got a realistic chance of becoming president” would make people look at one like this was a round of Spot the Loony.

Do the right thing Mike, drop out and do this instead

If he recovers from this, I will be surprised. But guess what? Surprising things happen all the time.

If Warren recovered enough to take Nevada, THAT would be surprising.

The “hey, make yourself useful, dumbass” philosophy. I like it.
