2020 Election Thread (formerly: 2020 Presidential Candidates Thread) (Part 1)

The Democratic candidate for President. I give to some local candidates as well from time to time. I may give to the org doing turnout work in PA as well.

I can afford right now to spend something to get rid of Trump. And it’s needed.

We all have to do something, that’s for sure. I decided to put my efforts more toward GOTV efforts for young people. Rock the Vote is sill doing great work pushing not only for young people to vote but also for making mail-in voting a standard and for abolishing the Electoral College.

Head of the SEC would be my second choice.

Also in the story is that he is also adding Julie Chavez Rodriguez, who is Cesar Chavez’s granddaughter and a well-known activist in her own right.

Hopeful signs, at least.

Yes; Biden has been coming up with surprises, which is not normally his forte. (“Unpredictable Biden” makes me a little nervous, truth be told.) Meanwhile, I’m waiting for the Biden-loathers at The Hill or elsewhere to come up with allegations that Cesar Chavez was a running-dog lackey of capitalist imperialism.

Unless they have a signed contract from Baker that he’s going to fill that Senate seat with a Democrat, I don’t understand how that makes any sense.

That works for me, though someone younger who could reasonably run in 2028 might also be an idea. However, dKos doesn’t always have an accurate finger on the pulse of Democratic politicians.

(Lately I’ve been wondering whether Susan Rice could be persuaded to run.)

Those ants being continually and systematically crushed by an elephant sometimes make such bad choices!

I guess the biggest difference between Klobuchar and Tim Kaine is that people outside of her home state have at least heard of Amy Klobuchar…

Don’t they have to vet at least a half dozen candidates? I mean, you don’t want to have lost the time, if it turns out your first couple of picks have something that makes them bad choices after all.

i feel like i so called this one

biden thinks ( or wants ) to court exactly the same demographic that klobuchar was appealing to. and it’s the one candidate that progressives would probably like the least. so win, win.

( edit: i blame cut and paste for that capital k in her name above and, for the sake of all lowercase letters everywhere, apologize. )

So much vetting!

(Demings was an early Biden endorser. She’s also a bluedog, wayyyy to the right of Klobuchar.)

Just came here to post this. An old white man telling black people that they’re really not black always goes down so well with minority voters, amirite?

Uncle Joe is going to blow this election.
