Welp…
Vote left and prosper.
Amid the swirl of developments, sources told ABC News that Trump, who remains hospitalized, had been given supplemental oxygen and experienced shortness of breath, a potentially worrisome picture that appeared to contradict both the rosier statements from Trump’s doctor and assessments that he was doing well both on Twitter and elsewhere.
Speaking outside Walter Reed Medical Center in Bethesda, Maryland, on Saturday, Trump’s physician would not offer a clear, declarative statement about whether the president had received oxygen treatment since testing positive.
The press pool was told soon after by a “source familiar with the president’s health” that Trump’s “vitals over last 24 hours were very concerning and the next 48 hours will be critical in terms of his care.”
I love how a lot of prominent Dems are offering prayers to Il Douche, with the implicit understanding that thoughts are wasted on him.
That seems very unprepared which seems pretty weak to me. It would be pretty easy to say, “I’ve been on the record as early as January on how we should be handling the coronavirus”. It avoid slagging Trump directly while still point out that Biden had already been offering leadership on this (and has been more of president than the president).
That said, I think as long as coronavirus is the top news story Trump is losing the election*, so I’m not that worried about Biden being “nice”.
* Assuming a fair election, which I always say because I don’t assume that, but these considerations are meaningless against a strategy of “lie about what the vote totals were”
Thing is, I think Biden actually is nice. I disagree with him on a number of issues (but at least we are in the same zip code) but he seems genuinely nice. I’m ok with him being nice.
I’d say Midwest nice
Scranton certainly ain’t the Midwest! Unless you mean Midwest PA.
Glad you didn’t say Minnesota nice, because I don’t think Biden is anywhere near that cold-blooded.

Following the news of the Trumps’ condition late last night, the Biden campaign have started to pull all their negative ads nationwide as quickly as possible. Like on the 9/11 anniversary last month, clearly not the approach the Trump team are taking. Unlike the quarantined and now hospitalized Trump, ex-VP Biden was far from “asleep in his basement” with a stop in the Great Lakes state earlier Friday.
Why does pulling those ads sound good on paper yet pisses me off at the same time?
Because sometimes taking the “high road” to protect one’s own sense of self righteousness can risk the lives of millions of other people.
We can allow a rabid dog to roam the neighborhood, and feel very good about ourselves that we were kind to the dog. The people it bites would not feel the same about our self-righteousness, I think.
I don’t think it’s to protect his own sense of self righteousness, he’s on tape saying he called Trump all that stuff in the debate because it’s true. I think his campaign advisors worry that it will play as kicking the Trump campaign when it’s down. It’s the usual fear of the Dems that the median voter isn’t actually with them and needs to be coddled and cajoled.
Just wrong in a different way though. Trump is suffering from the very thing he’s been trying to downplay. Biden camp should go for the jugular. There should be ads showing the ACB party with voiceovers about how the American people have suffered for months. There should be ads with testimonials from people who lost loved ones when they weren’t admitted into the hospital over footage of trump flying off to Walter Reed.
That’s why I’m not too worried about the Biden campaign pulling negative ads while Trump is in the hospital. It’s not what I would do, it’s not what I would recommend, but at the moment Biden is doing well. His strategy is working well enough. Is there some other strategy that would give Biden an even bigger lead? Probably. What is it? Who knows.
now that sounds like the donald we all know and loathe.
