FYI, Frontline this week was about the election with the history of Trump and Biden:
I think it is possible to be a racist, anti-semitic, misogynist, misanthropic ignoramus, without any of those characteristics negating any other. While the enemy of your enemy is your friend, they are still your enemy. Even you have a stratified ranking system for your various hatreds, they’re all still hate.
Ah yes, the Mr. Burns disease theory of Trumpian bigotry. Interesting to hear it from inside the house.
“Look, our guy is absolute trash, but he’s trash to everyone. Even me. Vote for him so I can continue to be emotionally abused.”
maxim 29. the enemy of my enemy is my enemy’s enemy, no more, no less.
For California voters who have to deal with the deliberately confusing proposition system that brought us such disasters as Prop. 13.
Ah, yes: the inverse “I have a Black friend” defense.
She’s not wrong.
This seems like probably a good sign?
Likely, since the general rule is that the more people vote, the lower the percentage of Republican votes.
And we are into full out voter suppression in Texas! Thanks to “conservative activist” Steve Hotze (a particularly disgusting stain on humanity and blight) and several candidates on the ballot. He and his cronies have sued Harris County, the biggest demoncratic stronghold in the state, to reduce the number of drop off locations and halt the extra early voting the governor put in place for coronavirus. There are people dropping their absentee votes already and he sues over it. There are only 11 drop off locations in a county of 4.7 million people stretching 1,777 square miles. They are open 7am to 7pm and a person may only drop of their own ballot with ID. He says the drop off points are “ripe for fraud.” He also included in the pleadings a bunch of garbage about democratic candidates harvesting votes with no evidence whatsoever but the word of two “independent investigators.” He wants the county to not accept absentee ballots until Nov. 3. There are over 4 million voters living there!
ARGH. This is on top of the lawsuit Hotze filed against the state to stop our extra early voting.
This man just keeps cropping up. Using his money and connections to screw with us. Big backer of the bathroom bill and actually called the governor’s office to harangue them for not telling LEOs to shoot to kill protestors.https://www.texastribune.org/2020/09/28/houston-republicans-lawsuit-voting/
Edited for typos like 1,7777. Not even Harris county is that big.
Not on Fruit Bowls, but I wouldn’t be surprised to learn they’ve been repeating this tactic in 2020:
Biden leads Trump in Pennsylvania by 9 points in two new polls today.
At least whoever’s running his Twitter account has a sense of humor.
still trying to figure out what fraud is even possible…
like what? people are photocopying their ballots and changing their names, dropping off 100 ballots per person? yeah, that’ll work. their argument just doesn’t make sense. ( not that it has to i guess )
I guess you know this, but when they say shit like this, it’s not meant to be thought about (because any time spent on thinking about it shows it’s nonsense); it’s something to be accepted unquestionably by the Trump supporters, to feed their outrage and sense of unfairness and persecution.
It’s like the votes that were thrown away. There was no reason for them to announce who the votes were for, and yet the announcement came out of the Justice Department, so, well…
It was an independent contractor that was immediately removed from the activities. The decision was that it was negligence, not voter fraud, and the contractor was fired. The way Trump talks about it is a complete mischaracterization.
You and me both. Particularly with staff at every location checking IDs.
This is true.
Because of this morning’s news with Trump catching a liberal hoax, you just know tomorrow’s opening debate sketch on SNL is going to be most epic thing seen on tv lately
Hold up, Baldwin is reprising his role as Trump???
